New York. Graphic Image. 2012. Ed. of 300. Softcover. Book Condition: Like New. 230pp. (ill. in colour and b&w).
Facsimile reproduction of Rene Ricard’s notebooks from 2010-2012, demonstrating in his own handwriting the way the poet’s ideas would fall and slant across the page. Includes his poetry (inscribed with revisions and notes), his commentary on social life and friends (and maybe enemies?), his allusions to the old gods (addressing Mallarme, quoting Sappho), as well as the salvaged ribbons and receipts and business cards Ricard gathered inside. The publication exists as a legible illegibility, smoothing over and making available to the reader a glimpse of the rich texture of Ricard’s writing and his life.
Forewords by Rita Barros & Raymond Foye.
