A French-Canadian poet, this collection chronicles poetry from Guillevic's 1942–1966 books in both French and English, with an introduction from the translator (poet Denise Levertov). Themes look at the fraudulent relationship between description and authentic representation, in that the specificity of Guillevic's writing draws the negative space around its images to better illuminate what is missing, isn't said, when we look at experience like a vista.
Trans. with intro. by Denise Levertov.
Text in French & English.
